Viet Rosewood: Dalbergia tonkinensis: Vietnamese rosewood is a dense, hard, true rosewood from the mountain forests of Vietnam. The wood has properties very similar to other fine rosewood like Kingwood or cocobolo. Color ranges mostly in the pale red to deep purple range with other colors mixed in. This piece is out of a super rare log with excellent full birdseye figure. I've not seen this level of birdseye in nearly any other wood, even in maple this level of figure would be outstanding. These pieces are about 1 year dry.
