Siam Rosewood: Dalbergia Tonkinese: Viet/ Thai rosewood is a dense, hard, true rosewood from the mountain forests of southern Vietnam and Laos. The wood has properties very similar to other fine rosewood like Kingwood or cocobolo. The color range in this wood is massive, and I believe the samples here reflect a few different species including D. barinesis, D. duperreana D. Lanceolaria. The figure and mechanical properties are excellent, and the wood needs no stabilization. All my rosewood is responsibly sourced from Old cut stock.
